TEAM4 Rides RAGBRAI 2011
10,000 bicylists ride 450 miles across Iowa in a week
by Michael Clark Toomey
A nearly 500 mile bicycle ride across the entire state of Iowa with four friends and 10,000 strangers and develops a bond as part of the traveling bike circus call RABRAI. An event that has been happening for more than 40 years sponsored by an Iowa newspaper called the Register. Thus it is named the Register's Annual Great Ride Across Iowa (RAGBAI).
I am a graphic designer who has worked in all aspects of strategic Branding from major corporate identification programs to logos for smaller firms. Other aspects of my graphic work are the Tactical projects of advertising, brochures, posters and signage. My interest in photography developed when designing ads, annual reports and brochures provided me with a rich experience in the field organizing, supervising and editing photo sessions. Ultimately I started doing the shooting on some my projects as well accepting assignments for other designers. Some of my personal interests, bicycling, vintage cars and architecture for example, have resulted in my photos being published in various magazines and books.
