This book is the product of a fast-paced, shutter-snapping, 11-day, 5-state road trip.
With gas starting to soar, it wasn't very clear when the next opportunity to take a responsibility-free, get-someone-to-watch-the-pets, hit-the-road-and-photograph-America road trip was going to come around again, if ever. So I hit the road, and introduced myself to the NW quadrant of mainland America. There were new sights, familiar faces, unspoiled nature and much-changed places. And every step of the way, I took shots.
Every frame now holds a space of that experience for me. Whether I was
pulling over to capture a sunset, exploring Seattle's grid while the
rest of the city was just waking up or documenting my procession
through a mythic cathedral of trees, the moments and stories told in
those places now resonate on these pages.
