One of three rice planting ancient ceremonies in Japan, this is in a small coastal town of Isobe in Mie Prefecture.

Young men and women dressed in replicas of very old costumes pray at the local shrine before they head to the fields to plant rice. Before the planting begins, men wearing only loincloths stomp around the fields to soften the ground to help with the planting of the rice seedlings.
