Alex Bowie first discovered a passion for photojournalism when, as a student commuting to and from art college, he witnessed bombings, shootings and rioting on the streets of Belfast, Northern Ireland. Buying an inexpensive camera, he began documenting the Troubles.
His work has appeared in numerous respected international titles, including the International Herald Tribune, Time, Newsweek, Stern, the New York Times, the Sunday Times, the Times and the Guardian.
Now represented by Getty Images, Alex Bowie's archival photographs still appear regularly in the media.
