“What’s it like to live here” is the question running through my mind whenever I travel. Of course, speeding across 2,000 Km in a bus over 19 days doesn’t give one time to stop and get to know the locals, especially in a land as expansive and diverse as South Africa and Swaziland. The images in this book are true “snap” shots, many taken through the window of a moving bus, and can only provide a hint of what ordinary people experience in daily living. I’ve selected those images that I feel convey not only what people do but also the environments in which they live.
