About the Book
The Cowichan Valley, nestled on the southeastern side of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada, is home to some extraordinary people. The twenty-two women profiled in The Passionate Life tell their stories of how they came to live in the Cowichan Valley, pursuing their dreams of becoming Organic Farmers, Artists, Musicians, Writers, Buddhist Ministers, Restauranteurs, Clairvoyants, Chocolatiers, Carpenters, Organic Skin Care Creators, and Perfumiers. Every story, told in each woman's unique voice, reveals the creativity of the women, the connections they have to each other, and their commitment to and love of their community, and the larger global community, in this island paradise they call home.

About the Creator
Lesley Fountain

I was born and raised in Vancouver, B.C. and lived in both England and the U.S. before settling in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island in 2003. Passionate about books, art, women's lives, country living, personal growth, life learning, and pudding, I had thought about the idea of writing a book of stories about women in my community for some time, until my sister gave me a boot in the you know what and I actually got busy and did it. I live in a kooky yet charming house with my husband, daughter, dog, guinea pig, and chickens. This is my second The Passionate Life book.
