MUSIC from ANGEL FIRE
BERNARD MINDICH is a multimedia artist whose paintings, sculpture and photographs have been exhibited and collected throughout the United States since the late 1970's. His marriage to the celebrated violinist, Ani Kavafian, has serendipitously resulted in frequent summer travels to numerous important music festivals where Mr. Mindich has prodigiously photographed world renowned chamber musicians and their festival surroundings and shared experiences. Music from Angel Fire has been no exception. Indeed, he has been a frequent visitor to Angel Fire where his wife has been a regular performer and his sister-in-law, Ida Kavafian, has been the Artistic Director almost since the festival's inception, 25 years ago. To commemorate this remarkable anniversary, Mr. Mindich has selected the photographs in this book from among the thousands he has amassed over the years. It is his intention to present to the reader -viewer s -- particularly the musicians , staff and consistent supporters of the festival -- a permanent visual documentation of the excitement, camaraderie, musicianship and sheer pleasure of this unique festival.
