Tyler Blackwell (b. 1990) is a photographer-artist from Fort Worth, Texas. After studying fashion and commercial photography in New York City, Blackwell relocated to Chicago, where he is currently working towards his BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In 2009, Blackwell was recognized by the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts for a photographic series that explored his Texas roots. He is currently working on a project that delves into a vast family archive of photographic slides that have been tucked away in a dark closet at a family ranch in Possum Kingdom Lake, Texas for the last 40+ years.
