R. Jackson, a pop artist/designer has been exhibiting art with the Diaspora Vibe Gallery for over a decade. As a NWSA student, R. Jackson became a YoungArts finalist and won level one in 1990. He graduated from MICA, at the top of his class, with a full merit scholarship in ‘94. It was in ‘95 however that Jackson found a split basketball with the word “Rocket” on it. He turned the ball into a puppet, and his wife Yolande brought the character to life by creating his story and naming him Rocko Rocket.
