The sailing events of the 2012 Olympiad will be held in Michael Hallett’s back yard. Born and brought up in Weymouth, his new book Olympic Coast celebrates the local history and heritage of the coastline between Bournemouth and Dartmouth, including the natural sailing arena of Weymouth Bay.
His intellectual pursuit of the extension of boundaries of time and space photographically, which brings together the cutting edge innovation of new media technologies, has resulted in the visual solution ‘photo construction’ his inspired and exclusive combination of photographs and iconographic imagery.
Michael Hallett is a professional image maker and internationally published cultural historian. He is currently a Research Fellow at the Centre for Fine Art Research (CFAR), School of Fine Art, Birmingham City University, UK.
