This is a collection of letters, notes & photographs by the British author & his wife describing to his parents back home what life was like in Miami in 1968-69 where he spent a year carrying out research at the University.

Born in Wales 1944. Gained Ph.D. in biochemistry at University of Wales, Cardiff in 1968 & joined Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries & Food in London in 1972. Appointed Chief Scientist (Food) in 1992 then took early retirement in 1996 to follow a new career. Keen amateur photographer from an early age & this developed into giving lectures to Photographic Societies & judging competitions including International Salons of Photography. Took up photography professionally in 1996. Specialize in live music photographing rock, blues & jazz concerts for Retna Pictures Ltd, an international picture agency. Went digital in 1992 & use a Nikon D3 for professional work but frequently use an Epson R-D1 rangefinder camera for personal photography.
