About the Book
For Michael Honnor the wilder landscape of Britain has been a constant source of inspiration. Much of his work is done outdoors in all weathers. In particular the places where land meets water provide an inexhaustible alchemy of weather, light and movement. "What I am after - out of all the excitement, the sun, wind and rain - is a painting so on the point of balance you can hear a pin drop. A bit like a pause in a dance, something alive and breathing and still."
This book shows recent work from the last ten years and over a hundred paintings are illustrated together with occasional brief notes about the artist's experience of the landscape.
Michael Honnor has exhibited widely in the UK and has work in many private, public and corporate collections. He has been exhibiting with the Thackeray Gallery, London since 1988 and his next solo show there is 22nd May - 8th June 2012.
