Steven Herrick II was born in 1967 in Maine, has also lived in Oregon, and now resides in Arcata, California near the Pacific Ocean. He has a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Humboldt State University, and he emphasized the study of biology and the general sciences during his education. Steven enjoys macro nature photography, listening to music, and watching thunderstorms. He has authored two coffee-table books: "Graveyards of California's Redwood Coast" and "Zen Garden of the Day".
