Precious Metal is a selection of road, track and studio car images shot with the intention of portraying the car as a static and dynamic art form.
Captured and edited by Mark Lacey
I trained as a technical illustrator producing b&w line or full colour airbrushed illustrations for a research laboratory in the south east of England. Soon after my training was complete I made the bold decision to go freelance. Twenty five years later I am still freelance, though I have had to diversify and learn a few new skills along the way.
I have been commissioned by many design and advertising agents enabling me to work on a diverse range of print based projects from the design of brochures, leaflets and magazines through to cutaway illustrations of complex machinery, 3d models and rendering.
In recent years I have been working with a magazine publisher working on some amazing photography for luxury car, yacht, motorcycle and jewellery brands. It has been my task to take images one step further than those which were recorded by the camera.
I am also a visiting lecturer at Herts University teaching degree students to realise their full potential with Adobe products.
