The House on Rue Burgundy is a visual poem of nude infra-red photos and oil paintings evoking the Storyville era of New Orleans. Photography by Marta. Paintings and poetry by Allison Gordin.
Marta has the instincts of a photo-journalist and the soul of a poet. A total non-conformist, she's a daring artist with strong socio-political opinions. Her photos have shown in galleries, magazines, and museums throughout the world. Born in Bogotá Colombia, raised in New York and New Orleans, Marta now lives in Los Angeles. The House on Rue Burgundy is Marta's second photography book. Her first release, Carnival Dreams: Unmasking the Spirit is an exploration of transcendence and isolation in the midst of public celebration.
