In 2005 LMS locomotive #6229, Duchess of Hamilton, was delivered to Tyseley locomotive works where it's streamlined casing was to be restored according to the original drawings. In 2009 the finished product was returned to the National Railway Museum to take it's place in a special exhibit recalling the "Streamline Era". The project was financed by donations from the 229 Club, readers of Steam Railway magazine and a number of individual donors. This book is my personal recollection of the project and by no means the detailed story which can be found in the NRM's excellent publication authored by Rob Adamson.
