Melpomene Selemidis is an English, History, Drama teacher and a passionate writer of poetry and prose.

Born in Northern Greece and named after the Muse of Tragedy, she takes inspiration from Greek Myths and the ecstatic, erotic, epic poetry of Sappho, Homer, Neruda and Rumi.
Melpomene's poetry of love and longing has been published in books, journals and online at Overload Poetry Festival and at www.melanie.selemidis.com
She is currently working on a mermyth magic realism novel set in Melbourne and Santorini.
