This book showcases the work of nine talented HND Photography students from the School of Art at Swindon College. In 2011, as part of their final year studies, they were tasked with photographing the collection at STEAM in a contemporary and exciting way.
The students photographed all aspects of the collection which ranged from archive material, uniforms, clocks, tools and locomotives. They focused on the colours, textures and details of these objects; often transforming exhibits into different shapes and forms.
The resulting images are abstract, atmospheric and visually stunning. There is a range of ‘motion’ pictures and detailed shots within the book that help highlight the wonderful historical objects on display in the museum.
