This hardcover book features large sumptuous reproductions of charcoal drawings covering Frank Mulvey’s thirty-year span of art production. The richly detailed, enigmatic and sensual artworks combine notions of anatomy and architecture within a framework of reinvented myth. Frank Mulvey completed his Master’s degree in Fine Arts under Guido Molinari at Concordia University in Montreal in 1987. Frank has been honoured with grants and awards from both public and private institutions, including the Ministère des Affaires culturelles du Québec and the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation. His artwork is held in numerous collections, including the Canada Council Art Bank and the Musée du Québec. He has had fifteen solo shows in Canada and is author of the book The Stillness of Time, featuring his art and poetry (2003, published by Galerie de Bellefeuille, Montreal). His contribution to Quebec culture has been recognized in Robert Bernier’s La Peinture au Québec depuis les années 1960, Les editions de l'Homme, 2002. Frank is a member of the Fine Arts Faculty and the Illustration & Design Faculty of Dawson College in Montreal, has been granted the Director General's teaching excellence award and is available as a guest speaker.
