About the Book
These days
I just walk with you
In November 2008 I received a call from my then 59 years old father: An active man, father, grandfather, husband, entrepreneur, musician, and swimmer. The phone call confirmed a nagging suspicion I had shared with my family: he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
Three years have come and gone since then, and my father is changing. He is still too healthy to be seen as a patient, but too ill to be the man he once was.
I have during the past 3 years been trying to record his disease and his changes with my camera. I want to continue this work to give a documentary of how life is for a younger Alzheimer patient:
an insight in a somewhat chaotic, at times scary and still, good life.
