This beautifully illustrated and thoroughly researched catalog documents a distinguished private collection of baseball-related fine art. The book begins with a short essay on the collection as well as an historical overview of the relationship between baseball and the fine arts. The balance of the catalog is devoted to extensive entries describing some twenty-one outstanding examples of painting, prints, sculpture, photography and textiles with baseball themes. This publication should be of considerable interest to art collectors who are also dedicated baseball fans. While not specifically noted in the catalog, most of the objects in the collection are also available for sale.
