About the Book
A glimpse into life in Boro Park,Brooklyn shows a community in that has avoided the infringement of chain store establishments, now ubiquitous on every urban landscape.
What preserves the independence of this enclave is the adherence
of the residents to the tenets of Jewish Law.
Businesses are independent and specifically geared to
serve the needs of the community. All photographs are made in Boro
Park, spanning years 2002 to 2010.
Bailey has been photographing city streets for many years. She studied filmmaking, continuing her work in photography in San Francisco where she lived for ten years. Bailey's work has been in numerous exhibitions, and is in museum and private collections.
