This fine art book includes a collection of 77 monotype paintings created between 1999 and 2004. The fluid and mysterious images are created with pastel overlaying abstract paintings made by pressing paper against water based paint on a sheet of glass. The fluidity of the process suggests movement of the elements through space.

About the Author

Barbara McLain
brmclainbook Nicasio, CA
As an artist, my primary passion is the exploration of the human spirit in it's journey toward truth. Working in oil, watercolor, mixed media, and monotype, my paintings depict the spirit realm primarily through figurative expression. My art has evolved from the spontaneous exploration of the often hidden and mystical side of life and death, to the study of Tibetan thangka painting, and more recently to aspects of meditation as portrayed through still life images.
