Second Glance: Photographic Impressions by Michael Pugh
Surely, not another photography book?
Well, perhaps this one’s a little different. You see, there’s not much attempt to get anything in sharp focus. In fact, quite the opposite appears to be the case and the book is a collection of impressions.
Sometimes fleeting, sometimes requiring certain light qualities, and often taking advantage of using the journey time in getting from A to B, there is a distinctive character to all the pictures.
Light appears to be shaken and stirred, leaving the viewer with a sideways glance of virtually any subject that has caught the eye of photographer Michael Pugh.
After the success of his Sideways Glances exhibition held in August 2011, and to celebrate the launch of the Second Glance exhibition in 2012, talented NSW Southern Highlands-based photographer, Michael Pugh, presents here a selection of his photographic ‘displacement’ impressions.
