I had the idea to have an art show to kick off HIV awareness month for July. I bounced the idea off my friend Carlos and he was on board. We later mentioned it to his cousin Tabitha and together we worked on making the show a reality.
We named the show E.N.U.F. (Empowering New Understanding Forever) and designed the show to feature both HIV positive and negative artists to help raise awareness and celebrate the lives of people LIVING with HIV or AIDS here in Los Angeles.
The show was a complete success in every single way. Featuring over 40 artists, DJ's GIO, DA BLENDA, BEAT COLLECTIVE and great from The Lobos Food Truck. We were able to donate over $600 to a local AIDS service organization here in Los Angeles, as well as getting people tested for HIV.
The artwork on the cover was designed by Los Angeles based artist Lyle E. Rushing. The piece is entitled "E.N.U.F." The book features photography by Eric Angel, Carlos Rosas, Tony Orozco and myself.
