The objective of this book is to try and reproduce as faithfully as possible the look of the original. In doing so, it is intended for the reader to be able to experience as closely as possible what it would be like to flip through its pages. When creating a facsimile, it was deemed important and integral to the project to reproduce not only the individual pages, but in order to convey as closely as possible the look and experience of the original, to reproduce the various odds of drawings, type, and photography that stick out beyond the ends of the individual pages as well.
Books, in all forms, shapes, sizes, and formats, have always intrigued and stimulated me, even from the earliest age. This project has allowed me to indulge many aspects regarding the process of creating a book. The original sketch / collage book allowed me to make a unique, one of a kind, book. The making of this book is in regards to both the object and its content. The other aspect this project has allowed me to indulge is the formatting and layout, or the design, of a book that will go to press. These all represent very different elements regarding book design.
