Mary grew up in Austin and graduated from The University of Texas in 1988 with a Bachelor of Journalism degree. She's worked various freelance jobs from in-house magazines to research publications and city newspapers. Diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, Mary says she has learned to balance on a slant and accept a predictably unpredictable self. She approaches each day with renewed hope and love encouraged by family and supportive friends.
