“BY, FOR, WITHOUT WHO”
After working several years on my vision of contemporary femininity, I allow myself to put my own concept in danger.
Namely to plastically identify, for a time, the woman (women), subject of my analysis.
I forbid myself the face, the soul expression, in order to refuse the icon, the comic hero, to universalise my vision on a general scale of femininity.
For this project, it’s all different:
To paint the 10 important, essential and decisive faces of my own past reflection, to plastically define them translating their faces this time, trying to transmit the same asserted speech but this time with out sensual or erotic tricks on the painting!
They will be close relations or fantasies, unknowns or legitimates, references or openings. They will all have an essential role and will be together a general vision. The number 10, fixed, corresponds to the 10 fingers of my hands, 10 fingers that never leave me, 10 fingers which daily activate themselves to do my private and public life.
The chosen women were, are and will be with no doubt essential to my own life. They go out of the shadow and exist, kind of a tribute, an ode to their strengths, weaknesses, richness, abnegations and potentialities. Decisive to my life, they are with absolutely no doubt essential to the vision I have of femininity in bloom and rich of counter-power. Of course, this project will be even more readable if this is associated to the knowledge of my previous work. To maintain the erotic thread, these paintings will be exposed associated to a picture of ankles and feet with high heels put on only pointed by initials and will therefore maintain a part of mystery so important to my interpretation.
Moreover, this project will allow the evolution and the measure of my own technique, the portrait being a classical exercise which could reveal the power of the line and of the graphical concept.
