Yes, it is about time for a third ShipParade book! And this time we're celebrating the efforts of our contributors worldwide. We've randomly selected more than 100 photos from the stack of images we received in the first six months of 2012. We've tried to feature as many ships, as many locations and as many contributors as possible. We've skipped on the interior shots this time, concentrating on a virtual "facebook" of the world's cruise fleet, seen through the eyes (and lenses) of António, João, George, Jan, Kjell, Paul, Thildi, Thomas and all the other contributors around the world that have helped to make ShipParade to what it is today.
In 2000, I stumbled across a very simple instruction on "how to make your own website". I decided to take matters into my own hands and moved into my own space on the World Wide Web. Starting out as an online picture book of my travels, Passenger Ship Parade (shortened to www.ShipParade.com in 2005) has evolved into a mature web magazine covering many of the world's most interesting cruise ships. The site currently generates some 350,000 pageviews per month.
