On August 4, 2012, Dodie and Granddad took Whitney to see The Big Apple. On the taxi ride from the airport to the hotel, Whitney asked, "Why are all these people here?" "They are always here," responded Dodie. "Why?" Whitney asked. Over the next four days she soon discovered "why."
Maybe it is the view from atop the Empire State Building, or the ferry ride to Liberty Island to stand in front of the Statue of Liberty, or the first taxi ride, or the first room service late dinner in bed. Maybe it is being on Good Morning America wishing the rest of the Taylor family "good morning." Maybe it is the Lion King which sparks the imagination. But maybe, just maybe, it is the two-story containers filled with every color M & M imaginable, or the three-story ferris wheel ride inside Toys 'R Us, or the horse carriage ride in Central Park, or the three-scoop ice cream sundae at Serendipity, or Dylan's endless rows of candy, or the two-hour shopping spree and lunch at the American Girl store. Whatever it is - she now knows "why".
