This volume provides a wonderfully vibrant and exuberant example of the great creative potential to be found in using lumen-printing techniques with simple floral subjects from the garden - to produce a series of stunning fine art pieces. The technique is generally attributed to a famous historical figure, Henry Fox Talbot, circa 1830. Though the process itself is old, the experiments in this book show how it may be used to revisit the fine art tradition of the floral still life, bringing it into the twenty-first century.

About the Author

Diane Kaye
Diane_Kaye California, USA

Photographer Diane Kaye is internationally recognized for the quality of her work and she has exhibited widely and received numerous awards.

Diane's background includes black and white darkroom printing, the use of both film and digital media, the “lith printing” technique, and digital negatives. She photographed the November 1989 beginning of the revolution at the Berlin Wall, developed large portfolios in landscape, nude, portraiture, and street photography and more recently performed experiments with motion, some of which involve the use of a scanner as camera. Her primary concerns in a fine print are: luminosity, compositional tension, mystery, and the visual expression of that which cannot be put into words.
