For two years, photographer Bonnie Schupp challenged people to answer the question, "How do you define yourself?" The answer had to be just one sentence bbeginning with the words, "I am..." Answers were followed y defining portrait photos. She received more than 100 responses from people ages 4 to 100 representing 15 countries.
Bonnie Schupp, Doctor of Communication Design, has been creating pictures since the early 50's. Among many others, she has won numerous awards and juried acceptances including Kodak International Snapshot Awards, Baltimore Museum of Art, Women in Photography International, the Bodine Contest and the Kinsey Institute. Her latest exhibit, Defining Ourselves, is a two-year project involving people ages 4 - 100 from fifteen countries who have defined themselves in one sentence beginning with "I am." Bonnie then took portraits to illustrate their definitions. She has been involved with Baltimore art projects including the Baltimore Love Project and Inside Out Baltimore.
