Charles Tremear was the first professional tintype photographer at The Henry Ford in Dearborn, Michigan. The studio was built in Greenfield Village in 1929 and Tremear made protraits of visitors to the museum and village until his death in 1943.

She is the author of The Tintype in America 1856-1880, American Photographic Patents 1840-1880, The Iron Plate in American Photography (blurb.com), and American Imprints on Art through 1865.
