Friends of ours joined us on a land-only trip to Alaska late August 2006. In addition to taking the Holland America domed train car to Denali, we also did a week-long Elderhostel in Glaceir Bay. The Elderhostel flew us in to Gustavus by bush plane from Juneau. The week also included a full day of whale watching and another day on a wildlife cruise of Glacer Bay where we got to also see the many glaciers in the area.
