Spectrum takes you on a journey through the landscapes of the world, led by the colours of the visible spectrum. Through the colourful landscape photography in this book you will travel, criss-crossing around the globe. The journey starts right in the middle of the deep red earth of the Australian Outback. While the colours around you gradually change, you will travel all the way to the sweet pink tulip fields in The Netherlands. In between you will pass by the lush greens of northwestern states of the United States of America and the cool blues of wintry Iceland.
The journey takes you through fourteen different countries in all four seasons, with a great variety in scenery and climates. All colours of the visible spectrum presented in one continuous flow of 62 colourful landscape photographs.
Spectrum represents the current portfolio of landscape photographer Sara Winter. The photographs in this book are a sample from five years of work, with images ranging from the summer of 2007 to the summer of 2012.
Fascinated by geophysical and cultural aspects that formed our landscapes, with my photography I try to inspire people to recognise and respect the world around us. The world close to home in The Netherlands, but also thousands of miles away. Photography for me is a way to communicate the moments I was blown away by the sight of an unmatched landscape. I strive to capture that feeling of being overwhelmed in my photographs.
