Sharon Dorival was born in Goodwill, Dominica. She spent her childhood living in Colihaut and vacationed always in Anse-de-mai.Sharon attended the Colihaut Government School then the Isaiah Thomas Secondary School when she passed the Commom Entrance Examinations. After passing the CXC Examinations she tried signing up to attend College but opted for a position as a preschool teacher at Miss Winston's Preschool. She taught for one year then moved to Canada in 1999. Sharon now lives with her husband and three children in Alberta, Canada. She is an avid reader, passionate writer and stay home mom. Her worked can be read on the World Poetry Movement site, poetry.com, Facebook, Bookrix, and Twitter. In 2012 Her poem Applaud Them is featured in "Stars In Our Hearts". In 2004 her poem It seemed to me received the Editor's Choice Award. Currently Sharon and her poem is nominated for The International Who's who In Poetry 2012.
