In my paintings the reasoning for the final product is subordinate to the work process. The motivation for the reasoning is fear. I believe that an original idea is more likely to originate in a protected area (for instance, the work itself).When the work is finally finished, the final result will match the reasoning, although each viewer can view the interpretation of this reasoning differently.
During the work process, I solely use my cognitive thinking for craftsmanship or formal decisions (in this case, aesthetics is not a dirty word), alternated with impulsive intuitive actions. This way I can be free of preconditions (fear) and am able to choose without being aware of my emotional motivations. The “story of the work”, which my mind is constantly trying to figure out, changes less at the moment when I perceive that the work is finished. Because each painting dictate its own set of rules, it will conquer its own place from the Readily fear.
