For thousands of years, nomads have raised livestock on the grasslands of the Tibetan Plateau and Himalaya. Now, the Tibetan nomadic way of life is under threat. A unique culture is disappearing as nomads are forced to settle. With 72 evocative photographs and insightful text, this book is a record of a vanishing culture.

Bought my first camera, a Canon FTb, in 1974 when I went to Nepal for the first time. For most of the last 30 years I have been working with nomads in Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, Mongolia, Nepal and Tibet. I have not gone digitall; I still use a Canon F-1 manual camera.
