About the Book
Lieutenant Colonel Bill Walkowiak, USAF (retired) is currently employed as a US Navy civilian and is a seasoned world-traveler. His 30 years in uniform took him to all seven continents including the South Pole and the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro. From Bangkok to Baghdad, the author has always carried a camera in his pocket to bring home stories for family and friends. As a combat-tested military pilot, he served during multiple tours in the middle east, and was decorated with awards including the Bronze Star and the Air Medal. An Eagle Scout, originally from Massachusetts, Lieutenant Colonel Walkowiak graduated from the USAF Academy in 1984. From his cold war beginnings in the Strategic Air Command, flight test experience at Edwards AFB, an E-3 AWACS pilot in Air Combat Command, and a Pentagon Analyst, his career was packed full of high pressure experiences.
