During a trip to Costa Rica with some close friends, while eating some dinner and drinking some wine, we had a laugh relating each other to certain animals based upon our individual quirks and personalities. The next day, I found myself drawing each animal into the sand as we walked along the beach and then later that evening, doodling mini drawings of each within my leather bound journal. That was the start of this project which I first referred to as the "alphabet series". Each drawing is a first and final draft. There are no do-overs, so each drawing has a natural flow and the creatures somehow emerge in the end. Each drawing is filled with a little bit of love and a little bit of passion. I hope that these drawings bring a smile to your face and that they may remind you of treasured aspects of either yourself or someone you love.

*I've made a small adjustment to the print versions available. The softcover remains the same with the glossy standard paper. I've upgraded the hardcover imagewrap version to have premium paper with a matte finish to give you a product very similar to the original sketchbook drawings I have here at home.
