LuEmma Muir Williams (1881-1969) lived her entire life in Illinois. She was born and raised twenty-five miles east of Springfield, near Illiopolis, and spent most of her adult years in Eureka, Illinois.
Late in life she recorded her memories of her prairieland childhood. Her reminiscences depict the joys and hardships of family life in central Illinois at the end of the nineteenth century.
Some forty years after her death, LuEmma Williams's writings have been transcribed and organized for publication by her granddaughter, Constance.
