Bustes en Rose: Art and Fashion Against Breast Cancer
30 artists and fashion designers joined together during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Chicago Artists Month (October) to aid the local fight against Breast Cancer.
About Bustes en Rose: Founded by 4 Art Inc. Gallery and Geraldine Rodriguez Photography, Bustes en Rose: Art and Fashion Against Breast Cancer was a month long art and fashion exhibit inspired by victims and survivors of breast cancer. The fundamental goal of Bustes en Rose is to give artists and fashion designers a platform to creatively express how breast cancer affected their lives. Bustes en Rose was part of Chicago Artists Month 2012, the seventeenth annual celebration of Chicago’s vibrant visual art community presented by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.
Bustes en Rose exhibition showcased one of a kind bustiers and corsets created by local artists and fashion designers. Each piece was created in both a sculptural and wearable format for example: some of the bustiers and corsets were created out of canvas, stainless steel, carved from wood, covered in Swarovski crystals and many more unique blend of mediums. Our first Annual Bustes En Rose Exhibition, which took place in the heart of the Bridgeport Art District at the Zhou B Art Center in Chicago, helped to raise funds for the Metropolitan Chicago Breast Cancer Task Force.
