About the Creator
Wanda Gamble moved to Bastrop County Texas in 1984 to paint and live the artist’s life. The surrounding landscape has inspired many of her painting subjects: the farms, woodlands, creeks, country roads, small town alleys and country roads near and far. Her studio serves as a private gallery and also a classroom for students. The painters she especially admires — Monet, Sargent, Bonnard, Hopper– may tell you something about her own work. She practices “painterly” – that – is — direct and broadly conceived painting. Wanda Gamble studied at Wichita State University (Wichita, Kansas) and at the University of Texas at Austin (Austin, Texas). Both individuals and corporate collectors have acquired her work. She has exhibited her work in four Texas museums: The Grace Museum of Abilene, the San Angelo’s Museum of Art, The Art Center of Waco, and The Tyler Museum of Art as well as gallery exhibitions at Tarrytown Gallery (Austin, Texas), Valley House (Dallas, Texas) and Harris Gallery (Houston,
