About the Book
GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN is home to one of the most conservative populations in the U.S. It’s a city where many businesses are closed on Sundays and people get confused when a married woman’s name isn’t the same as her husband’s. It’s also a city with a thriving sub-culture of artists, musicians and performers of all stripes who crawl out of the woodwork at night to revel in their eccentricities and take potshots at the complacent masses. Out of this throng of Bohemians comes the Super Happy Fun Time Burlesque Troupe with their scathing social ciritque and vulgar antics. They shine a lurid beacon of hope that change could happen even here in what has been called a “churchy, flyover, backwater town.”
