In 1979 Mexico established Rio Lagartos Bio-Reserve with 60.000 Hectares, including 388 birds species, 80 espieces of reptiles, and 59 mammals, many espices of tourtles.
I look at this place like a best kept secret because It is still not to visited and this allow us to see many birds, a complete dream for bird watchers, including part of the 43.000 flamingos of Yucatan.
