About the Book
Despite having superpowers, Charlie leads a pretty simple life. Living on the busy streets of Los Angeles is definitely an upgrade from the place where he grew up: an inhumane and vicious resarch facility called the Warehouse. After his escape, Charlie has managed to barely scrape by, and that does not necessitate emotional connections.
At least that's what he thinks until he meets Marisol McCoy, a beautiful girl with powers similar to Charlie's, and his entire world is thrown into chaos.
When the halfway house where Charlie and Marisol are staying is the target of an explosion, Charlie knows that there is no other option but to consult the Freak League, a group of kids who fight crime and call themselves Supers. They know all about the Warehouse and they're the only ones Charlie and Marisol might be able to trust. They know that the Warehouse is planning something big, and the Freak League might be the only ones who can stop the unthinkable from happening. There's only one problem. The Warehouse wants the Freak League out of the way. And they're willing to go to any lengths to stop them from saving the world.
