Pultneyville is nestled on the south shore of Lake Ontario, near Rochester, NY. Winter clothes this hamlet in a coat of white and mountains of ice along its lake shore. The orchards are like white lace against the dark blue winter sky. Activities slow down and peace envelopes the hamlet for a brief few months.
I come from a line of English gardeners who brought their passion to America in the early 20th century. I have an MFA in painting and printmaking. As an artist I use the garden as a source of interest for both the canvas and the camera. I have written about historic gardens for the Historic Garden Review published in London and articles on New York State history for local publications. Books published include family genealogies, local history and garden histories.
