About the Ebook
Stepping through the gates of Rohet is to discover an oasis of tranquility. Although the buildings and photographs anchor it in a colonial time, it is in fact timeless. The same brilliant colours of the desert, the fabrics, the murals, the peacocks, the roses are as they always were. This book is a window on that visual feast, as it is today.
In As a doctor I was faced with the constant narrative of human lives and as a photographer became fascinated with the narrative of place. Walking and photographing places I know well has become a pleasure, combining contemplation and creativity. The work I did during the MA photography course at Westminster University has helped to inform my work but it is my own experimentation into bookmaking that has allowed me to realise my ideas and produce tangible collections that I love to share with other people and photographers.
