About the Book
My daughter, Catherine, died the day she was born, January 31, 2007, due to a possible umbilical cord accident, after gestating happily to term. Hers was a surprise pregnancy, and it was a joy to carry her, which I never expected. Her death broke my heart, but a broken heart is an open one. We have learned so much more about strength, love, and family because of her, and I created this book to honor this legacy, and in a way, give her, and other babies like her, a sense of immortality.
