About the Book
This a colour documentary study of Tanzania in the early years of Julius Nyerere's presidency. It explores healthcare, collective villages, and the difficulties facing its idealistic regime.
Nick Hedges has been a documentary photographer for nearly 50 years. He has worked in the field of social affairs with a number of voluntary organisations. His work is in the collections of the National Media Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and is archived at the Central Library, Birmingham.
